For the product design project I created a phone case that opens in the back. The space in the back can be used to store credit cards, money, a home key, a ID etc. Its better than a regular case if you don't want to carry around a purse or wallet all the time. I came up with the idea because I am always storing money in the back of my phone case. But its annoying having to open my case and take it all the way off of my phone. With this design you won't have to take your case off all the way!
Printmaking was a fun project to do in art. I feel that I would have done better on my print if I could have had more time. To start the print we had a linoleum block. We had to draw a design on a paper, but the design had to be backwards so when we traced it onto the block it turned out right. Then we got paint and used a brayer to roll the paint on the block. After we did that we put the stamp on a piece of paper. I made 9 prints, so I for sure had 5 ones that turned out good. We cut out part of the block into the design we made on the paper. I decided to make a N for Nebraska. I drew my N it was right on the paper, so when I traced it over it was backwards on the block. Other than that I think that my printmaking project turned out okay. For the UNI project I wanted to do something different from what Mrs. Meyer assigned our class. I chose the future reflection, I thought it seemed like a more interesting choice then the others. Nobody else did it except my friend Olivia and Me. Our project was a reflection of our future in each others sunglasses. My future was in Olivia's sunglasses so I could 'look' into my future, and her future was in my sunglasses. When Mrs. Meyer first explained the 2D project I thought of doing something about volleyball right away! But with so much freedom I could do whatever I wanted and change my ideas. I went from doing a volleyball in front of a net to making a reflection of a volleyball court in a eye then finally I came to something totally different. I came to drawing a clarinet over a sheet of music. We watched a video in class about the pottery wheel. It showed us how to center the clay. To center the clay you put one hand down and your other hand on top of it. The video also showed us how to angle your hand, if you don't you can hurt your wrist. Another thing the video showed us is how to get rid of air bubbles, you cut the clay in half and keep rolling it. I also learned about Doug Reynolds. I learned that he made lot of different kinds of pottery. (bowls, plates and pots) I also learned that he doesn't do all of his work on the potter's wheel. He makes it look fun and easy! To learn more about Doug Reynolds an the potter's wheel, Click HereI thought the artist research project was productive. I know so much more about famous artists than I did before the project. Its also interesting to see how art affected history! I enjoyed researching Claude Monet and learning about what happened during his lifetime. Before this project I didn't realize what some of these artist went though. This project helped me have a deeper understanding of art! |
